Job summary

C Chelsea Football Club's U16 academy is recruiting a part-time youth coach to assist in planning and delivering high quality sessions at Cobham Training Ground, with travel to away fixtures as required.

You will support the Head Coach in long-term player development, run training aligned to the club's game model, and collaborate with medical, performance and safeguarding teams to create a safe, professional environment.

Qualifications

  • UEFA B Licence is essential; other licences/qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience with elite youth female athletes desirable.
  • Strong understanding of age-specific development principles.
  • Knowledge of grassroots, school and academy football.
  • Excellent observation, evaluation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning & delivery of high quality training sessions for the U16 squad.
  • Assist the Head Coach in long-term player development.
  • Assist with matchday planning and delivery, including player selection and post-match analysis.
  • Maintain high professional standards and a positive training and matchday environment.
  • Work with MDT (medical, performance, education, safeguarding) for joined-up care.
  • Provide up-to-date IAP documentation to the Head Coach and Head of Academy on request.
  • Support implementation of Individual Action Plans across the U16 age group.
  • Support and manage transition of players to and from the U16 squad.
  • Maintain regular communication with players, parents and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required for the Senior Team & Academy.
