Job summary

Octane Recruitment is recruiting a Tyre Technician for a fast-fit automotive business in Ripley. You will fit and repair tyres and assist with brakes, exhausts and basic servicing, while keeping accurate records.

Requirements include a UK driving licence for at least 6 months, LV maintenance Level 2 or equivalent, and at least 1 year of tyre tech experience. Salary £29,000–£31,000 plus ~£3,600 bonus; Mon-Fri 08:30–17:30, 42.5 hours, with Saturday rota.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• NVQ/IMI Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Tyre Technician.
• Passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs.
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs/replacements.
• Carrying out basic servicing work.
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures.
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and customers' vehicles are left clean.

Job description

Our client, one of the UK's fastest-growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Tyre Technician based at their retail centre in Ripley.

As a Tyre Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate tyre fitting and repairs, as well as supporting with a range of fast-fit mechanical work, including brakes, exhausts and basic servicing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tyre Technician looking for a long-term career with excellent training and progression opportunities.

Location: Ripley
Pay / salary: £29,000 - £31,000 basic depending on experience and qualifications
OTE: Approximately £3,600 achievable bonus
Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, 42.5 hours per week; Saturdays on a rota.

Tyre Technician Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate tyre fitting, replacements and repairs
• Completing fast-fit mechanical work, including exhaust and brake repairs and replacements
• Carrying out basic servicing work
• Maintaining accurate documentation in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with industry-leading standards
• Ensuring customers' vehicles are left clean and free from any dirt, oil or marks resulting from the work carried out
• Working with the rest of the workshop team to achieve targets
• Working safely and in line with company health and safety procedures

To be a Tyre Technician you will need

• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months – Essential
• NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HGV, LCV or PSV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair will also be considered
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Tyre Technician
• A passion for the Automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop further
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
