Job summary

Delaney & Bourton is seeking an experienced API Software Engineer to design and evolve a cloud-native API platform used by customer-facing apps and third parties. The role focuses on TypeScript, REST APIs and OpenAPI, with AWS, Docker and CI/CD in a containerised environment.

You'll join a small, shipping-focused team delivering secure, scalable endpoints and integrations across internal systems and external partners, while shaping platform architecture and best practices for the next generation

Qualifications

• Experience building APIs with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Strong REST API design skills and OpenAPI standards.
• Experience integrating systems and third-party services.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and containerised deployments.
• Ability to work remotely within UK time zones.
• Good communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain REST APIs used by internal and external customers.
• Build new endpoints and services in TypeScript.
• Develop integrations between external apps and internal platforms.
• Work with OpenAPI to design clear APIs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability.
• Produce technical documentation and share knowledge.
