Job summary

Abbeywell Surgery, a GP practice spanning Nightingale and Abbey Mead, is seeking a permanent part-time phlebotomist to join the clinical team. You will perform venipuncture, label and prepare samples, and record notes after each collection, reporting to the Practice Nurse Co-ordinator.

Domiciliary visits may be required; chaperoning and INR testing are possible if trained. A phlebotomy qualification and a full UK driving licence with access to a car are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy qualification.
• Experience as a phlebotomist.
• Experience working in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out venepuncture.
• Labelling, processing and managing lab samples.
• Recording accurate clinical notes after every sample taken.
• Chaperoning patients and maintaining privacy.
