Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain seeks an Executive Head Teacher to lead Washwood Heath Nursery School and Bordesley Green East Nursery School. This permanent, full-time role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day operational control across two sites.

You will shape ambitious EYFS delivery, foster inclusion and safeguarding, and build strong partnerships with governors, parents and the wider community to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strategic leadership in early years settings.
• Deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Experience delivering inclusive practice and SEND provision.
• Focus on professional development for staff and leaders.
• Ability to work with multiple governing bodies across sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead Washwood Heath Nursery School and Bordesley Green East Nursery School as Executive Head Teacher.
• Shape and deliver a clear, ambitious vision for early years education across both schools.
• Balance strategic direction with operational excellence.
• Develop a culture of excellence, inclusion and innovation.
• Promote inclusive practice and provision for children with SEND.
• Ensure safeguarding and child welfare are upheld and that all staff share this commitment.
• Prioritise children's social, emotional and mental well-being.
• Foster play-based, child-centred learning and early intervention.
• Develop staff through effective staff development.
• Build collaborative relationships with staff, parents, governors and the wider community.
