Job summary

LT Support LTD seeks compassionate Outreach Tutors and Teachers to deliver one-to-one and small group sessions across Essex. You will support students who cannot access mainstream education due to needs including anxiety, SEND, SEMH, or risk of exclusion.

Working in homes, libraries, or schools, you will help students build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve outcomes in English, Maths, PSHE, and through mentoring.

Qualifications

• Qualified or experienced Outreach Tutors/Teachers with a strong grasp of Maths and Literacy.
• Proven experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH, or non-traditional learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, resilience and a genuine commitment to student success.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored, one-to-one sessions for students ranging EYFS to Year 11 (up to GCSE/Functional Skills).
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Support not only academic growth but also emotional resilience and confidence.
• Keep accurate session records and progress notes.
• Incorporate a variety of learning tools and resources to enhance engagement.

Outreach Tutor / Outreach Teacher (One-to-One Support)

Location: Across Essex - Braintree, Colchester, Clacton, Chelmsford, Halstead, Harlow, Ingatestone, Manningtree, Southend and Tiptree
Pay: £20 - £23 per hour (Unqualified) £25 - £30 per hour (Qualified Teachers/OutreachTutors)
Schedule: Monday to Friday AM, PM, or Full Day availability from 9:30am Term-Time Only
Commitment: Minimum 10 hours per week (typically 2 hours per day)

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated Outreach Tutors and Teachers to deliver one-to-one and small group sessions across Essex. This highly rewarding role as Outreach Tutor supports students who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to a variety of needs including anxiety, behavioural challenges, SEND, SEMH, or those at risk of exclusion.

Working in pupils' homes, local libraries, or schools, you'll have the opportunity to help students build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve meaningful educational outcomes in core subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, as well as through interventions and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Outreach Tutors deliver tailored, one-to-one sessions for students ranging from EYFS to Year 11 (up to GCSE/Functional Skills level). Students are mainstream, SEN or SEMH.

• Flexibility and initiative in adapting to different environments and student needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply - support provided).
• The right to work in the UK.
