1st Staff is seeking dedicated 1:1 Outreach Tutors to support pupils across Essex. You will plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons in English and Maths on a one-to-one basis in settings such as the child’s home, local library, or a community centre.
Experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting young people is highly desirable. Roles are either part-time (10–15 hours) or full-time (up to 30 hours) per week, starting ASAP.
1st Staff is a leading nationwide Alternative Provision provider. We specialise in supporting children and young people, aged 4-25, through delivering bespoke educational and holistic therapeutic support.
We work closely with Local Authorities to support young people throughout Essex. Our tutors work with young people who are unable to access mainstream education, due to SEN and SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and risk of permanent exclusion.
We are currently seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors throughout Essex (England).
Areas include but are not limited to: Basildon, Southend, South Woodham Ferrers, Billieracy, Brentwood, Harlow, Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham, Colchester and Clacton - On - Sea.
Your role will be to plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning sessions on a one-to-one basis to students. This is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who is patient, caring, and able to build strong, positive relationships with young people.
Experience as a Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or Mentor is highly desirable.

1st Staff provide a support network for all our tutors; we have a Lead tutor for your specific area, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Curriculum leads for Maths and English, Behavioural specialist and a Head of Education.
We also provide access to Twinkl and White Rose to support you with your lesson planning and resources. You will also receive bespoke induction training with us, to support you and further your development.

Tutor employment status: This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position; you will work through a zero-hour contract basis and will be paid via PAYE.
