Job summary

North Devon College is seeking a Tutorial Area Manager for Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle and Digital, Creative & Business to lead high-quality tutorial provision across faculties in Barnstaple. The role focuses on supporting learners to achieve strong outcomes through effective target setting, monitoring, and inclusive learning environments.

The TAM will collaborate on the Personal Development Programme, contribute to cross-college events, and work across college priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience as an exceptional tutor and ability to support learners across curriculum areas.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confident managing difficult conversations with learners and parents.
• Enthusiastic, solution-focused and passionate about tutoring.
• Ability to collaborate across college faculties and support cross-college events.

Responsibilities

• Support learners through the college tutorial programme to achieve outcomes.
• Work with linked faculties to ensure effective tutorial provision.
• Contribute to Personal Development Programme and cross-college events.
• Promote a culture of respect and ambition within faculties.
• Set and monitor learner progress and behaviour targets.
