Job summary

A leading educational support service in Wellingborough is seeking Tutors to assist students currently out of mainstream education. Ideal candidates will have experience with Special Educational Needs and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Responsibilities include tailored teaching and support for students, and a commitment of at least 5 hours across 3 days. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £25 and opportunities for flexible scheduling and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience teaching children, ideally in special educational settings or with students who have SEMH/SEN needs.
  • Registered on the Update Service for 'Child Only' DBS.
  • Minimum commitment of 5 hours of teaching during the school day, across 3 days.

Job description

We are Seeking Tutors in Wellingborough for Students Awaiting Alternative Provision

We are seeking experienced and passionate teachers to join a dedicated team working with students currently out of mainstream education. These students have been excluded or have Special Educational Needs and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and are awaiting placement at an alternative provision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored teaching and support to students who are temporarily out of mainstream education.
  • Work with students with a range of needs, including SEMH and SEN, to support their educational progress.
  • Devise a tailored plan with the student to help support their needs, focusing on core subjects.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience teaching children, ideally in special educational settings or with students who have SEMH/SEN needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to support the individual needs of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with students, parents, and other professionals.
  • A minimum commitment of 5 hours of teaching during the school day, across 3 days.
  • 'Child Only' DBS registered on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
