Job summary

Champneys Beauty College, founded in 1976 and based in Tring, Hertfordshire, seeks an educator to teach beauty therapy to high standards and deliver engaging course material. You will prepare schemes of work, deliver content professionally, assess students, and maintain thorough tracking and records.

You will identify learning needs, guide students with learning logs, undertake tutorials, and develop flexible materials while ensuring health and safety and equal opportunity compliance.

Responsibilities

• Teach to high standards expected by Champneys Beauty College core values and awarding organisations.
• Prepare course material within predetermined timescales to meet the requirements of the course syllabus.
• Deliver course material in a professional and effective manner.
• Undertake lesson preparation and the marking/assessing of students’ assignments and practical work and ensuring group tracking is maintained and up to date.
• Identify individual learning needs and refer to learning support as appropriate.
• Guide and assist students in improvement throughout the course by completing learning logs, identifying areas of strength and area of improvement at each session.
• Undertake tutorials.
• Produce flexible learning materials.
• Identify materials and equipment/resource needs to assist teaching and learning by students.
• Ensure complete, accurate and up-to-date class registers and course files.
• Monitor student attendance and punctuality and take appropriate action.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations and fire procedures.
• Observe and promote equal opportunities policies in classroom, syllabus, and materials.
• Ensure security of classroom and equipment.
• Cooperate with reasonable requests related to the teaching programme.
• Keep up to date with curriculum developments and undertake short industrial placements as required.
• Ensure CPD requirements by awarding bodies or Champneys are met.
• Support marketing events at schools, careers events, or professional exhibitions when required.

Founded in 1976 and situated in Tring, Hertfordshire, on the grounds of the Champneys Spa Resort, Champneys Beauty College has built a name as one of the UK's leading beauty therapy training colleges.

• To teach to the high standards expected by Champneys Beauty College core values and awarding organisations.
• To prepare course material within predetermined timescales to meet the requirements of the course syllabus
• To ensure detailed scheme of work is in place prior to delivery allowing sufficient time for all aspects of course delivery.
• To deliver course material in a professional and effective manner.
• To undertake lesson preparation and the marking/assessing of students’ assignments and practical work and ensuring group tracking is maintained and up to date.
• To identify individual learning needs and refer to learning support as appropriate

• To comply with any Health & Safety regulations and, in particular, be familiar with the procedure to be adopted in case of fire.
• To observe and actively promote equal opportunities policies in the classroom, in the syllabus and learning materials and in all relationships with the service.
• To ensure the security of both the classroom and any equipment borrowed or used within the classroom
• To comply with any reasonable request in relation to the teaching programme.
• To keep up to date with curriculum developments in the relevant subject area, undertaking short industrial placements as required.
• To ensure any CPD requirements by awarding bodies or by Champneys are met
• To supporting marketing events at Schools, careers events or professional exhibitions when required
