Job summary

Remedy Tutoring in Brighton and surrounding areas is seeking enthusiastic, reliable tutors to support primary and secondary students in English, Maths and GCSE preparation. The role focuses on strengthening knowledge, improving exam readiness and building student confidence.

Tutoring may take place at students' homes or in educational settings. Applicants should have strong subject knowledge and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or QTS) and prior tutoring experience.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in the relevant tuition area.
• A relevant teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Experience tutoring or teaching primary and/or secondary-aged students.
• The ability to plan structured, engaging lessons tailored to students' current abilities and learning objectives.
• Experience preparing students for GCSE examinations or supporting foundational literacy and numeracy, where relevant.
• A supportive, professional approach with the ability to motivate students and monitor their progress.

Responsibilities

English & Maths Tutors Required - Brighton & Surrounding Areas

Remedy Tutoring is seeking enthusiastic, reliable and knowledgeable tutors to support primary and secondary-aged students across Brighton and the surrounding areas. Opportunities are available for tutors specialising in English, Maths and GCSE preparation, helping students strengthen their subject knowledge, improve academic performance and work towards their educational goals.

Subject areas include:

• GCSE Maths: Supporting students studying Higher Tier content, consolidating understanding, developing problem-solving skills and preparing for examinations.

• GCSE English: Developing reading, writing, comprehension and analytical skills, alongside exam preparation and confidence-building.

• Primary English: Supporting phonics, reading, spelling, writing and foundational literacy skills.

• Functional Skills Maths: Helping students develop practical numeracy skills and strengthen their mathematical understanding.

• English as an Additional Language (EAL/ESOL): Supporting learners in developing foundational English language, literacy and communication skills.

Essential experience and qualifications:

• Strong subject knowledge in the relevant tuition area.
