Job description

Job Description:

Our Team: Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis development and race operations.

We are looking for individuals with the mindset of an athlete—those who see limits as challenges to overcome. Join us to bring 'Vorsprung durch Technik' to Formula 1 and make motorsport history.

Position:

The position is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany, within the internal combustion engine development team. You will work on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain, aiming to maximize engine performance and efficiency while ensuring reliability. Your responsibilities include development measures during concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop combustion process and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations
  • Conduct thermodynamic development of engine gas-exchange, combustion phases, and flow simulations of intake and exhaust systems
  • Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with proper reporting
  • Create correlations with measurement data from engine testing and testbenches
  • Improve workflows and toolchains for simulation and test data correlation
Your Profile:
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics, or related fields (bachelor's, master's, Diplom, or Dr.-Ing.)
  • Several years of experience in internal combustion engine development and 3D CFD simulation
  • Strong knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains
  • Experience handling data from testbenches
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Independent and precise working style
  • Proficiency in German or English, with willingness to learn the other language
Additional Information:

We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from people with disabilities and look forward to your application to join our pursuit of excellence in Formula 1.
