Job summary

Assystem in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. You will work under the Turbine Island Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver Turbine Island design development with multi-disciplinary teams and the supply chain.

The role requires a 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering, strong CAD skills (Inventor/AutoCAD/Catia) and experience in regulated industries such as offshore or nuclear. UK security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Mastery of systems engineering principles for complex designs.
• Strong math skills and ability to produce technical reports.
• Experience with regulated offshore, renewables or nuclear sectors.
• Proficiency with CAD software and design documentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplier deliverables meet requirements.
• Develop and check design documents with Senior Engineers.
• Assist in design development activities and optioneering studies.
• Apply Systems Engineering principles.
• Integrate Turbine Island design into wider power plant infrastructure.
• Engage with stakeholders and attend design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality management.
