ABM UK is seeking a Tunnel Ventilation & Smoke Control Supervisor in London to oversee maintenance of critical smoke ventilation assets and tunnel ventilation systems. You will lead safety‑critical operations, plan activities, supervise teams and contractors, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable maintenance, maintaining asset health, and supporting continuous improvements in performance and safety across the site.

Formación

• Experience supervising mechanical maintenance teams.
• Experience with smoke extraction, tunnel ventilation, HVAC, or critical mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of safety-critical asset maintenance.
• Understanding of maintenance planning and asset management principles.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Experience using CMMS systems.

Responsabilidades

• Promote and maintain a positive safety culture at all times.
• Ensure works follow Safe Systems of Work, Permits to Work, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
• Conduct site safety inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, PUWER, LOLER, and related legislation.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and equipment failures; implement corrective actions.
• Stop any unsafe work activities immediately.
• Supervise maintenance, testing, inspection, and fault rectification of smoke extraction fans, tunnel ventilation systems, HVAC, pumps and pipework.
• Monitor asset condition and identify risks to safe operation; support lifecycle planning.
• Plan and supervise planned and reactive maintenance; coordinate technicians and subcontractors.
• Verify maintenance records and certification; ensure accuracy.
• Review maintenance trends and recommend improvements; support emergency response.
• Lead, coach and develop mechanical technicians and apprentices; allocate resources.
• Manage contractor RAMS and performance; ensure compliance with site rules.
• Maintain asset records; produce reports; update CMMS; provide technical recommendations.
