Job summary

White Recruitment Construction is seeking a Smoke Ventilation Installation & Commissioning Engineer to deliver life-safety smoke ventilation projects across London, the Home Counties and the wider South East. You will install, test and commission systems, hand over to clients, and liaise with stakeholders to resolve technical issues on site.

The role involves ownership from installation to handover, with occasional travel and short periods away to suit project locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in smoke control, smoke ventilation, HVAC or building controls.
• Background in installation, commissioning or servicing electrical or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and project drawings.
• Strong fault-finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience liaising with clients, subcontractors and project managers.
• CSCS Card is required; driving licence is essential.
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Comfortable completing commissioning records and client handovers.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission and hand over smoke ventilation systems.
• Liaise with clients and supervise subcontractors on site.
• Resolve technical issues and ensure projects are delivered safely to high standards.
• Take ownership of projects from installation through commissioning and handover.
• Occasional travel and short periods away may be required depending on location.
