Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust offers a data-focused role within the EMCHC / PICU service, supporting PICANet databases and detailed reporting.

You will input data, generate reports for clinical governance, coordinate validation visits, and work with clinicians to monitor capacity and treatment pathways. A strong eye for detail and Excel proficiency is essential, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, input and update PICANet databases.
  • Ensure timely submission of quarterly reports or as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Maintain, input and update PICANet databases specific for the service.
  • Ensure timely submission of quarterly reports or as required.
  • Validate and upload data internally and externally as required, maintaining data integrity and security
  • Coordinate PICANet data validation visits and support the coordination of other data validation visits as required.
  • Maintain, input and update all local databases.
  • Generate database reports for the team to maintain trust data flows.
  • Collating and entering data to assist in research, audit and clinical governance projects, both local and nationally led.
  • Producing reports from the database as requested to monitor capacity, treatment pathways and policy compliance.
  • Monitoring data quality and compliance with quality assurance indicators
  • Developing a working knowledge of all the software packages used within the EMCHC /PICU service, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • With the support of Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists', monitoring the audit trail of patient information ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

  • GCSE English Language & Maths Grade C (or equivalent)
  • OCR III (including Excel and Access) or equivalent

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
