Charity People are working in partnership with the brilliant New Horizon Youth Centre for a new Trusts and Foundations (Grants) Manager to join their successful fundraising team. This exciting role will help power their mission to support young people facing homelessness. With £1.7 million secured from trusts and foundations and £1.8 million from statutory funders last year, this role is central to sustaining and growing our impact.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-performing team within a dynamic and purpose-led organisation.

“London is a fantastic city to call home, but a central truth remains in the capital. Every year thousands of young people find themselves unhoused, unsupported and unsafe.

That's why New Horizon Youth Centre exists.

Founded in 1967 by Lord Longford to address the needs of young people who were homeless and misusing drugs in the West End of London, today New Horizon Youth Centre continues to be a vital support network for 16–24-year-olds with nowhere else to go.

Through the services we provide at our day centre, via outreach and remotely, our multidisciplinary team of over 60 staff support thousands of young people experiencing homelessness in London to find safety, improve their wellbeing, develop skills for life and ultimately find somewhere that they can call home.”

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week,

Location: Hybrid

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Development

The starting salary for role is £37,024 and comes with an amazing benefits package including:

  • 30 days annual leave per year (pro rata), plus bank holidays and some additional time off over Christmas

About the Role

Exceptional bid writing will be at the heart of this role. The Trusts and Foundations Manager will craft compelling, tailored proposals that clearly communicate impact and inspire funders to invest in the mission of New Horizon Youth Centre. In a competitive funding landscape, your ability to write with clarity, creativity, and strategic focus will be key to securing long-term support.

As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will lead the cultivation and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of five, six, and seven-figure funders, building strategic, long-term relationships. You’ll work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Development and the wider team to grow and sustain income from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources. This includes identifying new prospects, developing compelling proposals with clear budgets, and ensuring timely, high-quality reporting that demonstrates our impact. You’ll also play a key role in shaping team strategy, managing the Grants Officer with a focus on coaching and development, and collaborating with consultants to deliver exceptional funding applications.

About you:

You’ll be an experienced and strategic fundraiser with a strong track record of securing and managing five- and six-figure grants, including multi-year gifts from a range of funders. Skilled in identifying new funding opportunities, you’ll be confident crafting compelling applications and impact reports, and adept at translating complex project and financial information into persuasive proposals. You’ll thrive in a collaborative environment, working cross-departmentally with senior colleagues to meet ambitious targets, while managing multiple priorities with precision. With excellent communication skills, strong numeracy, and a deep commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, you’ll bring both the insight and the passion needed to connect funders to our mission and drive meaningful change.
