A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a clinical trust-grade doctor to support critical care medicine in Leeds. This role offers a pathway toward full consultant qualification through comprehensive experience in intensive care. Responsibilities include managing patients, supervising junior staff, and engaging in teaching and research activities. Candidates should possess a relevant medical qualification and full GMC registration.
This 12‑month clinical trust‑grade post in Leeds Teaching Hospitals provides comprehensive experience in all aspects of critical care medicine. The role is ideal for applicants wishing to gain tertiary centre experience in Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) and to progress towards a full consultant qualification through either the national training programme or the CESR pathway.
The Critical Care Units are based at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and St James' University Hospital (SJUH). Together they provide over 80 critical care beds, with expansion plans.
The post involves management of all aspects of patient care in the critical care environment as part of a multidisciplinary team. Duties include:
Individual training blocks can be arranged in neuro‑intensive care, cardiac intensive care, anaesthesia, paediatric ICU and acute medicine, depending on availability. Each doctor will be assigned an experienced Educational Supervisor to plan their educational journey, and a limited study budget is available for suitable external training courses.
