An established industry player is seeking a proactive Trust Doctor in Hepatology for a one-year fixed-term post. We seek a proactive, enthusiastic trainee who has completed core medical training and wishes to pursue a career in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. This role offers extensive experience in all aspects of Hepatology, including inpatient, outpatient, and research within a Level 2 Hepatology unit at a large teaching hospital in East London.
The post encourages training in endoscopy, involvement in Quality Improvement projects, and development of management skills through coordination of the paracentesis clinic. There are no on-call commitments associated with this role.
The Liver Unit at The Royal London Hospital is part of the Digestive Disorders Clinical Group, collaborating closely with gastroenterology teams at Whipps Cross and Newham Hospitals. The unit provides outpatient viral hepatitis services and operates within an integrated multidisciplinary service alongside surgery, pathology, and radiology. It also offers opportunities for extra experience in adolescent medicine through its links with paediatric gastroenterology. The unit is recognized internationally for managing complex viral hepatitis and leads regional hepatitis C services.
