Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with a glaucoma subspecialty to join our Eye Department. You will deliver specialist glaucoma care, lead service improvements and contribute to trainee education.

The role requires MRCOphth or equivalent, full GMC registration, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care within a multidisciplinary team in Leicester.

Qualifications

Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview or Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview

Adequate training in Ophthalmology

Excellent clinical skills and experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the Job Plan

Ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems.

Emergency eye casualty experience

Extensive experience in Glaucoma

• Glaucoma experience and skills Similar to a trainee within 6 months of CCT

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
