Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role based in Port Talbot, United Kingdom. The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport recyclable materials, waste, and processed resources between client sites, recycling facilities, and AWD Group Ltd locations. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, loading and unloading materials, securing cargo, and following assigned routes and schedules. The role involves complying with all relevant transport, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and communicating effectively with dispatch, site staff, and customers. The Truck Driver will also support efficient haulage and logistics operations that align with the company’s recycling and resource recovery objectives.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong truck driving skills, including experience operating heavy vehicles and managing varied road and site conditions.
• Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A (or equivalent UK heavy goods vehicle license) and be comfortable operating trucks and related equipment.
• Candidates should possess skills in safe loading, unloading, and securing materials to prevent damage and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT regulations (or applicable UK and EU transport regulations) and adhere to company and legal safety policies.
• Good spatial awareness, attention to detail, and ability to follow route plans and schedules.
• Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work independently and as part of a logistics and operations team.
• Basic record-keeping skills for logs, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
• Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or industrial transport is beneficial.
