Job summary

Panda is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our Wolverhampton depot. You will drive a modern Artic curtain-sider with tail lift, collect and transport fridges and domestic electrical waste for recycling across the region.

You must hold UK Category C+E licence with Driver CPC, an ADR licence, a digital tachograph card, and at least 1 year of Class 1 experience. The role offers a stable schedule Monday to Friday, 05:00 start, with overtime and attractive daily bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 Artic with tail lift safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure CPC and tachograph compliance.
• Secure curtain-side loads prior to transport and maintain communications with transport desk.
• Load and transport fridges and household electrical waste for recycling.

About the Role

Location: Wolverhampton, Staffordshire (WV1 2HS)

Position: Full-time, Permanent

Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour + Overtime x1.5 (after 45 hours)

Earning Potential: Additional daily bonuses available

Pay & Perks

• Base Pay: £14.50 per hour
• Overtime: x1.5 after 45 hours worked per week
• Meal Allowance: £3.00 daily allowance
• Early Start Bonus: £10.00 extra per day
• Night Out Allowance: £26.50 per night (tramping – occasional/when required, not mandatory)
• Take-Home Pay: Excellent overtime and bonus potential to boost your weekly earnings

The Role & Schedule

• Hours: Monday to Friday (05:00 start until finish)
• Break: 30-minute unpaid break daily
• Vehicle: Artic curtain-sider with tail lift
• Duties: Safely loading, collecting, and transporting fridges and household electrical waste
• Route Stability: Reliable weekly working patterns with a supportive local transport team

Key Responsibilities

• Operating HGV Class 1 Artic vehicles with tail lifts safely and efficiently
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and maintaining CPC and tachograph compliance
• Securing curtain-side loads correctly prior to transport
• Maintaining clear communication with the transport desk and site teams

Candidate Requirements

• Licence: Valid UK Category C+E licence & Driver CPC card
• ADR Licence: Current ADR licence required
• Tachograph: Valid Digital Tachograph card
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of Class 1 driving experience
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of UK drivers' hours rules, tachograph compliance, and secure load handling
