Job summary

Paragon Banking Group PLC is seeking a Senior Treasury Dealer/Financial Markets professional to lead Front Office activities and support liquidity, funding and investment strategies in the UK. The role involves executing a range of treasury products, monitoring markets and maintaining robust front office controls.

You will drive improvements, develop the team, and provide high‑quality reporting to ALCO and senior management while working in a hybrid model with a focus on regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Experience in a Treasury or Financial Markets environment with treasury products.
• Experience coaching and developing colleagues.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial data, assess market trends and make recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg and TMS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage Front Office team and act as escalation point for daily dealing and operations.
• Execute treasury products including swaps, money market investments, repo and fixed income purchases.
• Support SMF operations and funding activities with ALM colleagues.
• Monitor markets, yield curves and macro developments to support investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with Market Risk Policy for CC and FX risk.
• Develop reporting, MIS and analytics for senior management and governance.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Treasury Dealer or Financial Markets professional with a proven background in Treasury Front Office activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in executing financial market transactions and managing market facing activities, while looking to further develop their career within a dynamic, high performing Treasury function. This role will play a key part in supporting the Bank's liquidity, funding, and investment strategies.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Management and development of the Front Office team, acting as the primary escalation point for day-to-day Front Office dealing and operational matters, ensuring issues are appropriately managed and escalated where required.
• Executing a range of treasury products, including interest rate and FX swaps, money market investments, repo transactions and purchasing fixed income securities, in accordance with Market Risk Policy.
• Participating in Bank of England Sterling Monetary Framework (SMF) operations and funding activities, working closely with Treasury ALM colleagues to support the Bank's liquidity and funding strategy.
• Monitoring financial markets, yield curves, interest rate expectations and macroeconomic developments, providing market intelligence and trade recommendations to support treasury investment and hedging decisions.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with Market Risk Policy relating to Counterparty Credit and FX risk.
• Effectively managing operational resilience and operational risk in the Front Office including the maintenance of robust processes, procedures and dealing mandates.
• Day to day management of the Bank's High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) portfolio, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, risk appetite and investment guidelines.
• Producing insightful, high-quality reporting, management information and portfolio analytics to support decision-making by senior management, ALCO and governance committees.
• Maintaining and developing relationships with bank counterparties, brokers and corporate clients, and escalating or facilitating senior relationship engagement where appropriate.
• Drive and deliver treasury projects, process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen controls, enhance operational efficiency and support the continued evolution of the Bank's treasury capabilities.

About You

What you’ll bring to the team

• Relevant experience within a Treasury or Financial Markets environment, with a good working knowledge of treasury products including money market investments, repo transactions, fixed income securities, FX and interest rate derivatives.
• Demonstrable experience of managing, coaching and developing colleagues, with the ability to build capability, set clear expectations and create an effective and well controlled team environment.
• Possess strong analytical abilities to interpret complex financial data, assess market trends, and make well-reasoned recommendations to senior management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively liaising with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, facilitating clear and concise exchanges of information.
• Ability to distil and communicate complex financial information quickly and effectively to diverse audiences, facilitating understanding and informed decision-making across the organisation.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver accurate outputs to tight deadlines.
• Strong systems and analytical capability, including Excel and experience of market platforms such as Bloomberg. Experience of Power BI and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) would be advantageous.
