Purpose of the Role

This is a high impact role within a small, expert Treasury team based in Leeds. The Treasury Manager will take ownership of key risk management responsibilities — principally Counterparty Credit Risk and Liquidity Risk — across a very significant portfolio of client cash. As part of a small team, the role carries real breadth: the successful candidate will be expected to act as Treasury Dealer when required, placing deposits and managing activity within policy and regulatory limits, as well as undertaking rigorous analytical and forecasting work. The role also demands the confidence to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, including executive directors, and when required deputise for the Head of Treasury. This is an exciting time to join: the team has recently implemented FIS Integrity as its Treasury Management System and is actively developing the use of AI tooling to enhance Treasury operations. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to both strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
  • Own and maintain the framework for Counterparty Credit Risk and Liquidity Risk across the client cash portfolio
  • Design, run, and interpret risk analysis and scenario modelling (stress tests, sensitivity analyses, what-if scenarios)
  • Perform cashflow forecasting to support liquidity risk management, identifying and escalating potential pressures proactively
  • Monitor risk exposures against internal risk appetite and elevate where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the drivers of both counterparty credit and liquidity risk
Treasury Dealing
  • Act as Treasury Dealer when required, ensuring continuity of dealing capability within the small team
  • Place deposits with approved counterparties in line with internal policy, risk appetite, and regulatory limits
  • Manage dealing activity within CASS and MIFIDPRU requirements, maintaining accurate records and audit trails
  • Exercise sound judgement in execution, operating confidently within a framework of policy and regulatory constraints
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
  • Produce clear, concise, and well-structured analysis for senior stakeholders
  • Present Treasury analysis, risk assessments, forecasts, and recommendations to colleagues and, where relevant, directly to executive directors
  • Translate complex Treasury matters into accessible insight for non-specialist audiences when required
Regulatory Compliance
  • Support Treasury activities to operate within CASS (Client Asset Sourcebook) and MIFIDPRU requirements
  • Prepare and maintain regulatory reporting, documentation, and controls in line with FCA requirements
  • Build knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting Treasury activities, with support from the wider team
Interest Forecasting
  • Lead the forecasting of interest receivable, including model development, assumption setting, and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with Finance and FP&A to integrate Treasury forecasts into the wider business planning cycle
  • Provide clear, well-structured reporting on forecast vs actual performance
FIS Integrity - Treasury Management System
  • Champion the adoption and optimisation of FIS Integrity, our recently implemented Treasury Management System
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to maximise FIS Integrity's capability across risk monitoring, reporting, and operational workflows
  • Act as a key internal subject matter expert for the system, supporting process improvement and future development
AI & Innovation
  • Support the development and implementation of AI tools to enhance Treasury analysis, reporting, and risk management
  • Bring intellectual curiosity and a practical mindset to identifying where automation and AI can add the most value within the Treasury function
Growth & Project Support
  • Provide Treasury input and analysis to support business growth initiatives and strategic projects as required
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Risk, and Operations teams
Requirements
Skills & Experience - Essential
  • Proven Treasury experience
  • Demonstrable experience in managing Treasury risks, including Counterparty Credit Risk and/or Liquidity Risk
  • Experience of cashflow forecasting in a Treasury context
  • Experience of placing deposits and undertaking Treasury dealing activity, managed within policy and regulatory limits if applicable
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills — ability to build and run models and scenarios
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including financial modelling, scenario tools, and data manipulation)
  • Experience of interest income forecasting or similar financial forecasting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly and confidently to a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of presenting analysis or recommendations in a structured way to senior stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Willingness to cover the full range of team responsibilities, including dealing, when required
Skills & Experience - Desirable
  • A relevant financial or Treasury qualification, such as the ACT Certificate or Diploma in Treasury Management, CFA, AMCT, or equivalent experience gained within a Treasury function
  • Knowledge of, or experience working within, CASS and MIFIDPRU regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with FIS Integrity or a comparable Treasury Management System
  • Familiarity with AI or data science tools (e.g. Python, Power BI, or equivalent) applied to finance or risk
  • Experience working at a retail investment platform, wealth manager, or similar consumer finance business
  • Experience supporting strategic or growth projects from a Treasury or Finance perspective
Benefits
  • Group Personal Pension Plan - 8% employer contribution and 4% employee contribution
  • Life Assurance and Group Income Protection
