Job summary

Close Brothers Treasury Team is seeking a skilled Treasury Analyst to support liquidity portfolio analysis, market execution and governance. The role covers gilt and bond dealings, asset swaps, repo and reverse repo to optimise liquidity within risk limits and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will contribute to MI, reporting and governance packs, and interact with senior stakeholders on portfolio movements and strategy metrics.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in key Treasury Front Office activities.
• Strong knowledge of Bloomberg and experience using Bloomberg API with Excel.
• Experience communicating with senior stakeholders and presenting analysis in committees.
• Good understanding of HQLA assets, asset swaps, repo, collateral management and liquidity regulation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Manager, Treasury Dealing in monitoring portfolio composition, maturity profile, yield, liquidity, market risk, credit risk and limit utilisation.
• Produce and distribute daily MTM reports with portfolio volumes, risk exposures and activity.
• Assist with and execute transactions across eligible HQLA asset classes (gilts, bonds, asset swaps, repo, reverse repo) and ensure proper recording.

Join Close Brothers Treasury Team where you will assist with the analysis, monitoring, execution and governance of the Treasury Liquidity Portfolio, while providing contingency support to the Treasury Dealing team in managing interest rate and FX risk on behalf of the bank.

The role combines portfolio analysis, market execution, MI ownership and governance discipline. It supports dealing activity across gilts, bonds, asset swaps, repo and reverse repo, with a focus on optimising liquidity and return against a defined risk appetite, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Management and Dealing Execution

• Assist the Senior Manager, Treasury Dealing in monitoring portfolio composition, maturity profile, yield, liquidity, market risk, credit risk and limit utilisation, in line with established procedures and governance requirements.
• Produce and distribute daily Mark to Market (MTM) report, providing senior stakeholders and relevant teams, with a summary of portfolio volumes, risk exposures, performance, and relevant activity.
• Assist with and execute transactions across eligible HQLA asset classes, including gilts, bonds, asset swaps, repo, and reverse repo, ensuring activity is accurately recorded and controlled.

Management Information, Committees, and Analysis

• Maintain and enhance portfolio MI, spreadsheets, Treasury Management System data, reconciliations and regular reporting packs used to assist with weekly investment discussions and in monthly governance committees.
• Prepare concise portfolio analysis covering performance, risk, liquidity, collateral, benchmark, and strategy metrics, with clear commentary on key movements and drivers.

Governance, Controls, and Documentation

• Understand, apply and help maintain relevant governance documents, including portfolio standards, dealing procedures, investment limits, counterparty frameworks and control documentation.
• Ensure activity is undertaken in line with internal policies, approved mandates, risk appetite, conduct expectations and regulatory obligations.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF HAVE:

• Proven experience in key Treasury Front Office activities - Liquidity portfolio management, fixed income, interest rate derivatives, money markets, repo.
• Strong knowledge of Bloomberg, in addition, experience of using Bloomberg API interface with Excel essential.
• Experience of governance activities; confidence to communicate with senior stakeholders and present analysis in committee settings.
• Good understanding of HQLA asset classes, asset swaps, repo, collateral management, liquidity regulation and asset/liability management.
• Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret market, risk, return, liquidity and governance information and convert it into clear recommendations.
• Strong control mindset, attention to detail and ability to operate within policies, limits, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint), Bloomberg and Treasury Management Systems, with Quantum experience desirable.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, brokers, banks and market counterparties.

• Relevant professional study or qualification, such as IMC, CFA, ACT/AMCT or CISI.
