Rutherford Briant are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant for a highly successful and prestigious global food manufacturing company whose Head Office is based in Rainham. The company has recently acquired another food product specialist firm, and so they are looking to add an Accounts Assistant to help facilitate their recent growth.

They are offering a competitive salary up to £33,000, an opportunity to take on new responsibilities within management accounts, as well as hybrid working, study support, and long-term stability.

Our client is ideally looking to recruit an experienced accounting professional with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, someone who is well versed in aspects of purchase ledger and bookkeeping, and an individual who can hit the ground running and is looking for long-term stability within a cohesive yet professional working environment.

What you will do:

• Managing and processing Petty Cash
• UK CHAPS / Other manual payments
• Monthly bank Reconciliations / revaluations
• Processing of purchase invoices
• Daily posting of cash entries to a strict timeline
• Month end reporting and analysis of bank charges
• Processing of Employee Expenses (Credit Cards)
• Perform part of the management accounts close
• Month end reporting
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required

What you will need:

• Solid experience of working within Accounts.
• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Decent experience of using a variety of accounting software.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• AAT qualified or working towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA (ideal)
