Role Description

This is a volunteer Treasurer Trustee role at Age UK Islington. The Treasurer Trustee will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial affairs, ensuring best practice, advising and working closely with the CEO and trustees.

Key Responsibilities

• Chair the Finance Committee and provide expert financial guidance and advice.
• Ensure robust financial policies are in place to support effective decision-making across Age UK Islington.
• Develop a strong understanding of the key financial assumptions underpinning the organisational strategy and annual budgets.
• Advise the Board on significant financial matters, such as new service delivery contracts or major fundraising initiatives.
• Oversee the preparation of financial accounts to ensure they meet the requirements of funders and statutory bodies, including Companies House and the Charity Commission.
• Meet annually with the external auditor to review and discuss the organisation’s financial reporting.
• Play an active role in shaping the organisation’s fundraising strategy.
