Job summary

Altum Consulting is seeking a Treasury Analyst for a 4-week contract in London. The role centers on cash allocation, bank reconciliations, and day-to-day treasury tasks within a multi-entity finance environment.

You will manage daily bank transactions, process BACS payments, run reconciliations, and support month-end close. Strong Excel and ERP experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential. A background in education sector is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cash allocation and bank reconciliations.

• Experience in finance functions, ideally multi-entity or group structures.
• Confidence using financial systems and tools (ERP, Excel); familiarity with ledgers.

Responsibilities

Treasury Analyst | 4-week contract | £160 to £190 per day

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage daily bank transactions across multiple accounts, downloading statements and maintaining accurate records.
• Allocate BACS payments received to the correct customer accounts in the Finance System.
• Communicate with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure proper payment matching and resolution of discrepancies.
• Process BACS payments made to suppliers and allocate them to the appropriate supplier accounts.
• Allocate and reconcile termly direct debit collections to customer accounts.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring system balances align with bank statements.
• Support the month-end close process with accurate reconciliations and reports.
• Collaborate with finance colleagues across regions to streamline cash handling and improve financial processes.
• Maintain high data accuracy and confidentiality at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Proven experience in cash allocation and bank reconciliations.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
• Experience working within a finance function, ideally in a multi-entity or group structure.
• Confidence using financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP, Excel); familiarity with customer and supplier ledgers.
• Ability to work efficiently under time pressure, especially around month-end deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
