Job summary

Ultimate Banking Ltd is seeking a Treasury Analyst to join a City of London team with hybrid working after probation. You will engage in hands-on treasury activities, including trading, liquidity management and HQLA oversight, supporting funding and investment strategies.

The role requires a numerate degree and 1–3 years’ banking treasury experience. Strong analytical, communication and Excel skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics or Finance
• 1-3 years' experience in a bank treasury or financial markets environment
• Experience executing treasury products (money market investments, repo, fixed income, FX, rate derivatives)

Responsibilities

• Execute treasury products including swaps, money market investments, repo and fixed income securities
• Participate in SMF operations and funding activities
• Monitor markets, yield curves and macro developments to inform trade ideas
• Support hedge portfolios, balance sheet exposures, and liquidity management
• Assist with HQLA portfolio management and reporting for senior management
• Engage with counterparties, brokers and clients; support KYC onboarding
• Contribute to treasury projects, process improvements and system enhancements

Working pattern: Hybrid after probation, 8.30am - 5.00pm

Salary: To £50K DOE plus bonus

Ready to build your career in a high-performing bank treasury? Our banking client is looking for a Treasury Analyst to join its growing Treasury team.

You'll get hands-on exposure to a broad range of treasury activity, from trade execution and Bank of England operations to hedging, liquidity and HQLA portfolio management. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll play a key role in supporting the bank's liquidity, funding and investment strategies.

What you'll be doing

• Executing treasury products including interest rate and FX swaps, money market investments, repo and fixed income securities, in line with Market Risk Policy
• Participating in Bank of England Sterling Monetary Framework (SMF) operations and funding activities alongside Treasury ALM colleagues
• Monitoring markets, yield curves, interest rate expectations and macroeconomic developments, and sharing market intelligence and trade ideas
• Supporting the management of interest rate and FX hedging portfolios, including hedge execution, performance monitoring and analysis of balance sheet exposures
• Supporting liquidity and cash management across the Group, including deployment of surplus funds and efficient collateral management
• Helping manage the bank's High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) portfolio within regulatory requirements, risk appetite and investment guidelines
• Producing insightful reporting, MI and portfolio analytics for senior management, ALCO and governance committees
• Building relationships with bank counterparties, brokers and corporate clients, and supporting KYC and onboarding
• Contributing to treasury projects, process improvements and system enhancements

What you'll bring

• 1-3 years' experience in a bank treasury or financial markets environment
• Experience executing treasury products such as money market investments, repo, fixed income securities, FX and interest rate derivatives
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn financial data, market developments and economic trends into insight
• A real interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and regulatory developments
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurately to tight deadlines
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Desirable

• Experience using Power BI, Bloomberg or treasury systems
