Job summary

Routes to Work in Central Scotland are hiring a Data Cable Engineer to support delivery of structured cabling projects across Scotland, Northern England, and Ireland. You will install, terminate, and test cabling systems, read technical drawings, and complete testing/certification documentation while upholding safety standards.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, willingness to travel, and the ability to work away from home.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and testing structured cabling systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and site plans.
• Proven track record in delivering quality installations to industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and fibre optic cabling.
• Installation of containment systems including trunking, basket, tray, and conduit.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and site plans.
• Fault finding and remedial works.
• Completion of testing and certification documentation.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site.
• Liaising professionally with customers, contractors, and project managers.
• Proven experience installing and testing structured cabling systems.
