Job summary

eurochange is hiring a Retail Sales Assistant in Gateshead. The role is part-time (14 hours per week) at our Gateshead bureau, NE11 9YG. You’ll be the friendly face, delivering expert advice on travel money and currencies while ensuring service standards are met with accuracy and care.

You’ll handle transactions, build rapport with customers, and work across a flexible rota including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays. Join us to help make foreign exchange better for everyone.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in retail sales, cash handling, and customer service.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to nearby branches if required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding, friendly service that turns first-time customers into loyal fans.
• Build rapport to understand customers' travel plans and needs.
• Recommend products and services to meet customer needs.
• Engage in conversational selling to match products to customers.
• Provide guidance on exchange rates and currency options.
• Process transactions accurately while complying with financial regulations.
• Keep the bureau secure, presentable and welcoming.
• Support new colleagues during onboarding and share knowledge.
