Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Trust Grade Doctor (ST3-5) in Trauma and Orthopaedics. This permanent appointment at Leeds General Infirmary offers a 40-hour week and a 24-hour partial rota.

The post requires full GMC registration, ATLS, and MRCS or equivalent, with 2+ years in trauma/orthopaedics and NHS experience. Applicants will join a team delivering inpatient care across two sites (Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital).

Qualifications

• Must have GMC registration with license to practice.
• Minimum two years’ experience in trauma and orthopaedic surgery.
• Minimum one year at registrar level.
• Minimum 24 months’ NHS experience.
• ATLS certification required.
• MRCS or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Fracture clinics and trauma/orthopaedic surgery duties.
• Weekend hip lists and ward rounds with patient reviews.
• Support to FY1/2 and ST1/2 doctors.
• Full in-house educational and clinical supervision and mentoring.
• Opportunity to participate in departmental research and audits and present findings.
• Opportunities to teach undergraduate students and contribute to clinical governance meetings.
