Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Trust Grade Doctor (ST3-5) in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Leeds General Infirmary. The role is permanent with a January 2027 start, offering exposure to polytrauma and comprehensive training opportunities.

The postholder works with a team of surgeons, on an on-call and 24-hour partial shift rota, across two sites (Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital). Fully GMC registered candidates with ATLS and MRCS are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with license to practice.
• Minimum 2 years’ trauma/orthopaedic surgery experience.
• One year at registrar level; 24 months NHS experience.
• ATLS certification and MRCS (or equivalent) are required.

Responsibilities

• Fracture clinics and trauma/elective orthopaedic surgery.
• Weekend hip lists; ward rounds and patient reviews.
• Support to FY1/2 and ST1/2 doctors; supervision.
• Access to research, audits and teaching opportunities.
