Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking a Youth Justice Worker to support children within the Youth Justice System, applying Child First principles and trauma-informed approaches. You will assess, report, and perform direct work with children who may be at risk of exploitation or displaying complex needs.

You will collaborate with families and multiple agencies to ensure safety and positive outcomes, while maintaining statutory standards and working to deadlines in a busy team environment.

Qualifications

• Motivated and committed to safeguarding children.
• Strong written and verbal communication supporting assessment and evidence-based decisions.
• Ability to relate effectively to children and their families.
• Ability to work constructively with colleagues across teams/agencies and provide appropriate challenge.
• Ability to plan and organise a varied workload and meet short deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and using corporate devices.
