Job summary

Kibble Education and Care Centre invites applications for a Trainee Child and Youth Care Worker. This 12-month programme involves direct work with young people in trauma-informed settings, with options for day or night shifts.

Successful candidates will follow a structured development path, including SCM training, a three-month probation, and ongoing supervision. Applicants should be prepared to undertake relevant training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Willingness to complete HNC in Social Services within the programme.
• PVG Scheme membership required as part of the appointment.
• Full driving licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote effective communication with children and young people to build trust and involvement.
• Support management of situations involving challenging behaviour and promote wellbeing.
• Collaborate with parents/carers and external agencies to understand roles and responsibilities.
• Demonstrate strong verbal, written and IT-software skills for administrative duties.
• Promote group living through daily living programme planning, execution and review.
• Work toward completing the HNC qualification in Social Services.
• Possess a full driving licence and be willing to drive school transport if required.
• Engage in supervision to develop professionally and pursue learning needs.
