Job summary

Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School in Neath is seeking a dedicated Temporary Teaching Assistant to join Camau, our trauma-informed provision for BESD pupils. The post supports learning, delivers interventions, and mentors students in a range of subjects, with a focus on wellbeing and inclusive education.

The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week for 39 weeks per year, starting 19 October 2026, and contribute to curriculum development through vocational learning opportunities while

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching children with additional learning needs and BESD.
• Ability to deliver lessons, interventions and supporting practices with small groups.
• Capable of working across a wide range of subject areas and vocational subjects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons and interventions and provide supporting practices with small groups.
• Support across subject areas and contribute to vocational learning opportunities.
• Provide 1:1 mentoring and information towards pupil education plans while documenting progress.
• Support pupil wellbeing, foster positive relationships and promote a nurturing environment.
