Job summary

Simon Community Scotland is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to engage with people facing homelessness, trauma, and addiction. You will help individuals secure housing and access essential services through compassionate, person-centred support.

Working within a flexible, compassionate team, you will participate in reflective practice sessions and collaborate with local authorities and partners to achieve safe housing outcomes.

Qualifications

  • SVQ 3 social care or willing to work towards qualification.
  • SSSC registered and able to work within the SSSC Code of Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop honest and open relationships with our community that foster trust.
  • Exercise training and reflective practices to develop additional skills to support and respond to trauma.
  • Work with people from diverse backgrounds with dignity, respect and kindness.
  • Collaborate within a team with a range of experiences and knowledge to benefit the community.
  • Support our community to influence their care and achieve their goals.
  • Provide emotional and practical support as required.
  • Foster connection, hope, and a positive identity and meaning in life for our community.
  • Work with other teams in SCS and with partners to support good outcomes.
