Job summary

Simon Community Scotland is seeking a Development Worker to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to women facing homelessness. You will work in a psychologically-informed way to empower individuals, help secure housing, and connect them with health, wellbeing and advocacy services.

The role emphasizes reflective practice, partnership work, and co-production with women with lived experience. You will join a small team dedicated to equity and inclusion, offering flexible shift patterns

Qualifications

  • Essential: SVQ Level 3 or HNC or equivalent, and willing to work towards qualification.
  • SSSC registered and able to work under the SSSC Code of Practice.
  • Experience in women-focused or trauma-informed settings is highly desirable.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgemental support and maintain boundaries.
  • Shift pattern requires flexibility and a feminist, trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities

  • Direct practice: build trusting relationships with women and provide emotional and practical support.
  • Service development & co-production: ensure lived experience is central to service design and improvement.
  • Partnerships: maintain strong multi-agency collaborations to support women.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning: contribute to data collection and reflective learning.
  • Maintain trauma-informed, psychologically-informed practice across services.
