Job summary

Social Interest Group (SIG) in Luton is seeking a part-time Support Mentor on a fixed-term contract until 2029 to deliver trauma-informed, person-centered support to women facing exploitation and substance dependency.

You will work within a 24-hour service, conducting key-work sessions, welfare and safeguarding checks, and support plans while encouraging residents to engage in activities and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Ability to show empathy and compassion to residents.
• Experience with or understanding of domestic abuse and related barriers.
• Willingness to learn IT systems and adapt to software.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload and conduct key work sessions tailored to resident needs.
• Carry out welfare, safeguarding, and living checks.
• Encourage participation in activities and community engagement.
• Maintain up-to-date support plans regularly.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver excellent service.
• Build trusting professional relationships to help residents meet goals.
• Focus on empowering residents to take control and meet personal goals.
