Job summary

Social Interest Group in Luton is seeking a female Support Mentor (FTC) to provide trauma-informed, person-centered support to residents in a 24-hour service. You will build trusting relationships, manage a caseload, and help residents set and achieve personal goals.

The role requires empathy, flexibility and commitment to safeguarding, with a shift pattern of 24 hours per week and a fixed-term contract until 2029. DBS checks apply and DBS-related processes are part of the selection.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting women
• Understanding of domestic abuse and barriers faced by women
• Ability to use IT at an intermediate level
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends/bank holidays
• Commitment to trauma-informed care and service values

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload and conduct key work sessions tailored to resident needs
• Carry out welfare and safeguarding checks and general living checks
• Encourage participation in activities and community engagement
• Keep support plans up to date
• Collaborate with team to ensure excellent service delivery
• Build trusting professional relationships with residents to help achieve goals
• Empower residents to take control and meet personal targets
