Job summary

Activate Learning is recruiting a Behaviour and Welfare Officer to ensure a safe, welcoming campus for staff, students and visitors. You will work with internal and external partners, including safeguarding teams, to support student progress and wellbeing.

The role focuses on trauma-informed and restorative approaches, promoting responsible behaviour and a proactive bystander culture across campuses in Banbury and Bicester. Requires safeguarding experience and youth engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or GCSE in English and Maths (A–C) is required.
• Safeguarding training and experience with young or vulnerable adults.
• Experience dealing with challenging or confrontational behaviour.
• Ability to engage young people and deliver learning activities.
• Desirable: training in control without conflict and restorative justice.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support student progress.
• Promote safe, welcoming environment for staff, students and visitors.
• Collaborate with safeguarding to ensure timely referrals and interventions.
• Promote an Active Bystander culture and high standards of behaviour.
