Job summary

Keys Education seeks a SEND Teaching Assistant to support Acorns School in Stockport. You will assist teachers, help pupils with complex needs, and contribute to a safe, nurturing learning environment aligned with the school's safeguarding policies.

Ideal candidates bring at least two years in SEND, and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous. The role offers ongoing training and the chance to make a meaningful impact on pupil wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
• Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with learning activities under teacher guidance.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
• Help manage behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
• Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
• Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.
