Job summary

Cumberland Council is recruiting several Residential Support Workers to join two brand-new children’s homes in Wigton and Burgh by Sands. You will help create a nurturing, therapeutic environment and support children who have experienced trauma, promoting stability and resilience.

You will work as part of a dedicated team, supporting daily routines, education, leisure, and community activities while ensuring safeguarding and positive outcomes for children in care.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care or related field preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy residential setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing of children.

• Support children and young people with daily routines and activities.
• Build positive relationships to promote stability and resilience.
• Promote education, leisure and community participation.
• Support family connections where appropriate and ensure children have a voice in decisions.
