Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Nursery Nurse for an Alternative Provision in Clitheroe. You will support 3–7 year olds with SEMH and complex needs in an EYFS/KS1 setting, delivering nurture-based care and foundational learning in a trauma-informed environment.

This role requires a Level 3 childcare qualification (Level 4/5 desirable), Enhanced DBS, and strong de-escalation skills. Salary up to £40,000, term-time only, CPD and pension are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years.
• Experience with EYFS/KS1 learners with complex needs.
• Enhanced DBS check and excellent references required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nurture-based support and early development interventions for children aged 3–7.
• Use sensory breaks and play-based regulation activities to support emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and SENDCOs to support EHCPs.
• Maintain accurate developmental records, observations and pastoral logs.
• Foster trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and multi-agency teams.
• Uphold safeguarding standards in line with KCSIE guidelines.
