Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a primary SEMH school in Shenstone that supports pupils with SEMH needs, ASC and communication challenges. The school seeks a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role leading to a permanent position for the right candidate.

The successful TA will work within bespoke behaviour, support and risk management plans, using trauma-informed practice to support pupil engagement and wellbeing. Start date is September, with a competitive daily rate.

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC and communication and interaction difficulties.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory.
• Calm, resilient and confident approach to supporting pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs in daily classroom activities.
• Work within bespoke behaviour, support and risk management plans.
• Contribute to individualised support strategies for ASC and communication needs.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a trauma-informed learning environment.
