Job summary

Switch Up is seeking a Learning and Engagement Mentor in Mansfield/Nottingham to deliver Alternative Provision through education, mentoring and personalised support. You will develop IEPs/IPs, run workshops and support young people to progress into education, employment or training.

This 12-month FTC, 37.5 hours/week, term-time pro rata salary from £26,500. You will work closely with schools, families and partner agencies, building trusted relationships and delivering engaging one-to-one and

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people in education, youth work or mentoring settings.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with young people and families.
• Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Deliver engaging one-to-one and small group sessions.
• Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Intervention Plans (IPs).
• Facilitate workshops and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with schools, families and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and use digital case management systems.
• Champion safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people.
