Job summary

TEACH Poole Multi Academy Trust is seeking an Inclusion Base Teacher at Haymoor Junior School, Poole, to support KS2 pupils aged 7–11 with SEMH needs. This 0.6 part-time role (mornings only) starts January 2027, in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.

You will lead personalised learning in a small group, using data to drive progress, and collaborate with staff and external professionals to achieve holistic outcomes, while upholding safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in the primary phase with understanding of early childhood development.
  • Understanding trauma, attachment and anxiety impacts learning and behaviour.
  • Passion for supporting pupils needing specialist, nurturing approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to pupils’ developmental, emotional and learning needs.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and predictable environment rooted in trust and emotional security.
  • Using assessment and pupil-level data to track progress through small, meaningful steps.
  • Adapting teaching to meet a wide range of abilities, emotional needs and barriers to learning.
  • Implementing positive behaviour approaches focused on co-regulation and emotional coaching.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to support holistic pupil outcomes.
  • Upholding safeguarding responsibilities and maintaining high professional standards.
