Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate tutor to support a Year 11 student on a 1:1 basis in the Blandford area. The role is 6 hours per week across 2 days, focusing on English and Maths with Science as a bonus.

The student has SEMH needs and is on the SEN register, with ADHD and Autism assessments upcoming. A trauma-informed, relationship-building approach is essential, and you may liaise with carers, school staff, and our team as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching GCSE or Functional Skills English, Maths and/or Science.
• Understanding of SEND, SEMH, ADHD, Autism and attachment needs.
• Trauma-informed approach to education.
• Ability to build positive relationships and promote engagement.
• Strong communication and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tutoring for GCSE/Functional Skills English, Maths and/or Science.
• Support a Year 11 student with SEMH/SEND needs.
• Collaborate with carers, school staff and our team as required.
• Deliver trauma-informed, consistent instruction to promote engagement.
• Maintain safeguarding awareness in all interactions.
