Job summary

PET-Xi is recruiting Alternative Provision Practitioners to work with Primary and KS3/KS4 learners requiring bespoke approaches. You will plan and deliver Maths and English up to GCSE level within an alternative provision setting, supporting engagement, attendance and personal development.

Role focuses on trauma-informed, nurturing learning environments, safeguarding, and building positive pupil relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with learners in alternative provision or similar settings.
• Ability to deliver Maths and English to GCSE level.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Understanding of trauma-informed and learner-centred approaches.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour.
• Help pupils identify strategies to manage emotions.
• Support pupils during dysregulation and crisis.
• Implement behaviour support plans and risk assessments.
• Contribute to creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Deliver Maths and English up to GCSE level to KS3 and KS4 students.
• Work effectively with learners in alternative provision settings.
• Plan, prepare and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor progress and provide clear feedback to learners and PET-Xi staff.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Upholds safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice at all times.
