Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a Strengthening Families Practitioner to support vulnerable families across Salford. The role requires a trauma-informed, solution-focused approach and collaboration within a dedicated team to deliver intensive, bespoke support that improves child development and family resilience.

You will work both independently and with others, in outreach settings, maintaining detailed records and applying evidence-based frameworks to measure progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in child development, health or social care.
• Experience working with children and families is desirable.
• Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive, bespoke support to vulnerable families and children.
• Engage families in developing social and emotional skills and school readiness.
• Work flexibly in outreach settings, including evenings as required.
• Maintain accurate records and apply the Family Partnership Model to assess needs.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to manage risk and safeguard children.
